Update 7:33p Apparently it’s not raining anymore in Colorado, but the starters, Greinke and Chacin, haven’t started warming up. They might be expecting more rain to pass through, but it looked pretty clear. Plus, there was no tarp on the field, so I don’t know what to think. But, the Rockies have announced a start time around 8:00 p.m. CT, so I doubt we’ll have to wait too much longer.
7:21p This is why Miller Park has a roof.
The Brewers have run into yet another rain delay on the road, as their game against the Rockies has been delayed for about 15 minutes now. I’ve been looking at the radar, and it really doesn’t look like there’s much around Denver right now except maybe a few showers. But every time they show footage of the weather on FSWisconsin, there’s lightning everywhere and it’s pouring. The staff at Coors Field claims that there shouldn’t be too long of a rain delay, but who knows.
Anyway, this is, if I’ve been counting right, the sixth rain delay the Brewers have hit on the road this year. They’ve been in Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, Minnesota, and now Colorado. The Brewers are lucky to have the luxury of a roof at their home stadium, and sometimes I wish that more stadiums had roofs.
I don’t know if this delay will have any effect on the starters, Zack Greinke and Jhoulys Chacin. But, I’ll keep this post updated if I get anything.
